ABL attend International Trade Forum to expand power module supplier network

On the day that power module supplier ABL attended Orgatec for the first time, in order to attract new distribution partners, operations director, Milorad Sijan was invited to attend an International Trade Forum in Birmingham.

Milorad attended the breakfast forum which was organised by Insider magazine with eight other Midlands based international businesses. The breakfast was part of a full morning of workshops exploring how the Midlands can find a new way forward in international trade by maintaining its strong links with Europe, while rekindling centuries old relationships with India and South-East Asia.

The breakfast was then followed by a morning of keynote speeches and a Q&A session with a panel of expert exporters in order to examine what exporters can expect from a post-Brexit Europe and how to prepare for potential changes.

The panel included:

Trevor Hoyle – senior vice-president of operations for Northern Europe, FedEx Express & TNT
Kevin Oakes – chairman, Royal Crown Derby
Stuart Garner – chief executive, Norton Motorcycles
Deb Leary – chief executive, Forensic Pathways
Tony Kinsella – chief executive, Lucideon
John Forkin – managing director, Marketing Derby

Commenting, Milorad said, “It is a testament to our success that ABL UK was invited to such a prestigious event to share our experiences of trading in Europe, which is where our commercial power modules are manufactured. We are embarking on a period of expansion and looking for new distribution partners in Europe and attending the breakfast enabled me to meet likeminded businesses and share best practice.”

The Insider International Trade Forum took place on Tuesday 23 October at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.
